The small village of Gosforth sits amongst beautiful Lakeland countryside and consists of a scattering of traditional cottages, farm dwellings, and pubs serving good food. The village forges links far back into the history books and proudly shows the tallest, and oldest Viking Cross in England, plus the church holds many treasures not least the amazing Hogsback Tombs. Close by are the towering peaks of Scafell - England's highest peak, as well as Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell, whilst the nearby valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking scenery. There are many local attractions in the area including Muncaster Castle, the World Owl Centre and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway. This great location has something for everyone.

House superb, attention to detail superb, location superb! This has been one of the best houses we have ever stayed in, top quality. From the gorgeous lemon drizzle cake to the bottle of wine, Xmas tree to the best information folder. Lottie the owner was lovely, met her in our second day and let us get on with our holiday but was there if needed. Stunning location, two pubs in walking distant, the Boot Inn was superb. The only thing we could find fault was only one TV, on a rainy day two would be great especially when you have kids! You will not be disappointed with this property! Definitely will book again in the future!

The cottage has been very well renovated and extremely comfortable, good quality furnishing and accessories. A variety of walks from the cottage and can swim in the river too. A lot of thought has gone into making this property home from home, with many little touches. Owners were on hand if required. Will definitely be returning.
