Newlands Valley, situated between Braithwaite and Buttermere, is a nearby sight worth seeing, and Bassenthwaite Lake is also quite lovely. There are walks for everyone, from easy strolls through the countryside to strenuous climbs of Skiddaw or the well-known Catbells.
