Guests say

Bridge House is a cosy, traditional stone cottage in Keswick, appreciated for its excellent location and charming character. Guests enjoy the proximity to local attractions and stunning mountain views. The cottage's open coal fire adds to its comfort, making it a favoured choice for many, despite some noting the need for updates.

Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. Some guests found the cottage well-equipped and clean, while others noted issues with dust, dirt, and inadequate cleaning supplies, leading to a slightly above-average score.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to local amenities, and ease of access to Keswick and walking routes, making it nearly perfect according to guests.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the bedding clean and the cottage warm. However, some guests mentioned that the beds could be more comfortable and the twin room was cold.

Facilities are adequate with a modern kitchen, but the bathroom is consistently described as dated and in need of an upgrade. Heating controls are reported to be broken, and the overall maintenance could be improved.

There is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

This is the second Christmas we have stayed at Bridge House. The difference from last year to this year was day and night.Upon arrival at the cottage, we found the living room carpets barely hoovered (we did find this out - a Henry hoover but no hoover attachment to hoover the carpet) Glass all over the kitchen floor - which our daughter and myself stood on, stains all down the kitchen cupboards and the fridge smelled. The plates and glasses were heavily stained. Oven was full of crumbs. The bathroom had just had a ‘wipe over’. The floor was dirty with fluff and hair. The bedrooms were dusty and mouldy round the windows. The mattress’s were heavily stained. Carpets were not hoovered in the bedrooms. We moved a bed so our daughter could sleep against the wall and the rubbish behind the bed was unreal.6 sticks and half a box of firefighters were left for a week long Christmas stay - this fire was to heat the whole house. We had already booked to stay Christmas 2026 - but have since changed the accommodation.Very disappointed as we thought we had found our place to spend Christmas. The place needs a full decorate and a very deep clean.

I loved this cottage as we went out of season so it was worth every money, but wouldn’t pay silly price for it. The kitchen was very modern and clean apart from the outside fan it hadn’t been used for years and unfortunately I did!,The bathroom was dated, and anyone suffering from vertigo or not good on their feet would have to careful the floor is like a sail ship it’s so bumpy. All the bedrooms where clean and lovely but the twin room was cold and didn’t really warm up, We had the fire burning every night and it was gorgeous and cosy. I hope to bring my daughter and granddaughters in the spring loved it.
