With some of the best views in Keswick, Fairview has it all. This four-bedroom family home is perfect for that large family or friends looking for their Lake District fix in a large, spacious, modern house. The central hub of this house is a fantastic open plan living/kitchen/dining area which boasts high specification appliances. With a large island and dining table seating eight, it’s great for a banquet at the end of a day full of adventure and sparks a really social atmosphere. The front of the property looks out onto the rooftops of Keswick below, Bassenthwaite Lake and Whinlatter Forest into the Distance whilst being surrounded by the neighbouring fells of Skiddaw, Grisdale Pike & Grasmoor to name but a few. Situated just off Castlerigg Brow, you can easily walk into Keswick town centre and leave the car behind, just a 15-minute stroll into the town centre, less than 1 mile away.
Keswick is vibrant with a great outdoor market and plenty of places to eat and drink. Its bustling centre has an abundance of quality restaurants, pubs, independent shops, along with plenty of delis, bakeries, coffee shops and local craft stalls. Famous for its narrow streets and courtyards, this traditional market town is one not to be missed. If you like culture, check out the Theatre by the Lake, with award-winning arts and drama on the banks of Derwentwater, where you can hire a rowing boat.
For family fun just over a mile away, why not try Puzzling Place, a mind-boggling attraction based on optical illusions, or the Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world; for another wild day out, try The Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, or The Lakes Distillery, offering daily tasting and tours, both 8 miles away. A clean, spacious, well equipped house, with fantastic views and in a very convenient location. The house was nicely decorated for Christmas and we loved our family Christmas break there, and would be happy to return. Very hard to be critical as we genuinely loved our stay, but given it was mid December, it would have been nice had the heating been turned up before we arrived, and it took a few hours to warm up the house once we got there. Despite it saying there was a set of starter logs and kindling, there wasn’t any. The kitchen was very well equipped, but the non stick trays could perhaps be refreshed. Very minor nitpicks really!

A lovely cottage with fabulous views we can certainly see why it is called Fairview. Good facilities and a lovely touch to have a beautifully Christmas Tree at this time of year. Nice and clean and plenty of space. The hill back from the village is very steep but it’s all good exercise,

Excellent holiday cottage, very tidy and clean. Kitchen well stocked with equipment. Outstanding . Comfy beds and lots of bathrooms. Lovely views across Keswick and the fells. Now, if you could do something about the Lakes weather!The only suggestions I can make for improvement are maybe internet speeds. I measured 2..6 Mbps which is a struggle to stream anything comfortably without a bit of stuttering. A salad spinner would also be good. These are minor things as we really enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
