The Hayloft in Keswick is consistently praised for its peaceful and beautiful location, with many guests highlighting the convenience of having walks right from the doorstep. The hosts, Fiona and John, are frequently commended for their warmth and helpfulness. The property is described as clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, offering a tranquil retreat in the heart of the Lake District. While most reviews are glowing, one mentions issues with cleanliness and comfort, but this seems to be an outlier.
The vast majority of guests found The Hayloft to be spotless and well-maintained. One review mentioned cleanliness issues, but this appears to be an isolated case in contrast to the overall positive feedback.
The location is universally lauded for its stunning scenery and tranquility, with direct access to walks and nature. It's described as a peaceful haven away from crowds, embodying the true spirit of Cumbria.
Guests consistently report that the beds are large and comfortable, and the cottage cosy and warm. One negative comment about bed comfort does not significantly impact the otherwise excellent feedback.
The facilities are generally praised as excellent, well-equipped, and suitable for both humans and pets. There is a single mention of a lack of certain items during a power cut, but overall, the facilities meet guests' needs effectively.
Many guests appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the provision of mulled wine and biscuits, though it's important to note that such gifts are not guaranteed. The property is also well-stocked with games and books for rainy days.

The rural location is perfect for a quiet, relaxing break. Great walks from the door including the Newlands Horseshoe, Robinson and Cat Bells (the non tourist route). The cottage was cosy, comfortable and warm without needing the heating on. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Fiona and John are next door if needed. We would highly recommend Hayloft to anyone wanting a rural break.
