Perfect cottage for a getaway from it all holiday in a lovely location.Branthwaite Cottage has everything you could need with all top quality equipment. It is an old cottage with very low doorways upstairs (watch your head) but it’s been immaculately restored and is very warm and comfortable. Some great walks & bike rides in the area with quiet tracks & roads with hardly any traffic. There’s no shops or pubs in the area which suited us down to the ground.Close enough to the Lake District without being over run.

We would emphatically NOT recommend this cottage. There was constant noise from farmers dogs, farmers farm bikes early in the morning and music at night. The dogs are kept at night in an outbuilding directly opposite the cottage. One day, I was chased by one of the dogs, which snapped at my heels, and bore its teeth at me, whilst making my way out to the car parked in the lane. The noise from music culminated with our having an argument with a neighbour concerning same. The cottage has low ceilings on the upper level and we were constantly banging our heads off the low beams in the toilet and low door frames leading to the bedrooms. The photograph of the cottage is misleading. The view from the living room and dining room is directly onto a wall.

A Great location, very tidy and well kept property. All utilities in kitchen and throughout the house for self catering. Lovely woodburning stove with wood and kindling provided. TV and Wifi were great. Need to keep your eyes peeled on first arriving as cottage entrance is quickly missed.
