A beautiful three bedroom detached cottage, boasting stunning views over Coniston Water with a South facing rear garden and private parking.. Electricity, gas, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Cot and highchair, £10 each per week. Garden. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. Set in the peaceful and picturesque surroundings of Coniston, Hollin Bank Barn offers a tranquil escape right in the heart of the Lake District. This beautiful three-bedroom detached cottage enjoys an elevated position, close to the popular Village of Coniston but only one mile away from the picturesque Tarn Hows. The cosy lounge offers a wood burning stove for those cooler evenings. An open plan kitchen/dining room has a door that opens onto this wonderful south facing garden. As well as the three double bedrooms, there is an upstairs bathroom, and downstairs shower room. The cottage has stunning views from the rear windows of the lounge and the garden across Coniston Water towards Coniston Old Man — a truly special backdrop for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. There is a wonderful, enclosed garden at the rear and a wooded area to the side of the house, making this a lovely setting.
Walking opportunities are abundant — whether you’re tackling the summit of the Old Man of Coniston, exploring the scenic Tarn Hows, or enjoying gentler lakeside strolls along Coniston Water’s western shores. There are trails for every level, each offering stunning views and peaceful woodland settings. Mountain biking trails located in Grizedale Forest are only one mile away. For those who love life on the water, Coniston Water (also 1 mile away) is perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, or hiring a rowing boat from Coniston Boating Centre.

We had an amazing week at Hollin Bank. The location really suited our needs being able to walk to Tarn Hows and Coniston from the doorstep.The Barn also had commanding views of coniston water and the fells beyond, which was a treat,especially from the living room.We found the property very comfortable and plenty of utilities supplied for cooking etc.Overall we would recommend staying at Hollin bank, and we hope to return in the future.Negatives;1. The heating is on a timer, so it went off for a few hours of the day. This is a problem in the winter months if you wanted a day in. The first net of logs is provided which is appreciated, but only heated one room.2. The bathrooms looked a little tired compared with the rest of the property and weren't a 100 percent clean.3. No welcome pack. Spending £5-£10 on a basic welcome pack goes a long way. Milk, biscuits etc.

This was booked for 3 nights for 3 generations. A clean well equipped property with fabulous views.But Cottages.com have been very economical with the description. There was no mention of 4 steps down to the entrance.Nor that the sitting room was situated upstairs with 2 of the bedrooms and that the twin was downstairs. The twin had a dehumidifier in place and it smelt musty.Previous guests had not cleaned up after their dogs.We decided to leave a day early as this property didn’t quite work for us. Due to mobility issues I would not have booked this property if a correct description had been given and would not book again.I’m sure many other guests will love this property it just wasn’t ideal for us.

This cottage was lovely with fantastic views of Coniston from the lounge upstairs. It is very well equipped with everything you need. There are several pubs in Coniston which is about a 5 minute drive. We had a very relaxing stay.
