It is in a great location with Grasmere village literally on the doorstep and great for several fell walks from the house. The bedrooms are lovely and bathroom facilities were great. Our only issue was that downstairs the underfloor heating could not be felt meaning the downstairs bedroom was cold especially at this time of year. The radiators elsewhere got warm but not hot enough to dry clothes quickly if you got soaked. It felt the heating could not be controlled to any great degree if you wanted it to be warmer.

Have stayed here 7 times now!! Small concerns though. Hoover did not work well when used just before we left and it smelt of wet dog!! In the upstairs big bedroom king size bed never has a bottom sheet that tucks in the top properly. Bedside tables far too big so cleaners must struggle to make the bed. Frying pans apart from one, all old and have lost their non stick finish. Are booking it for next year!!!! X
