Guests appreciate the property's peacefulness, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches like diffusers. While some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests have reported that the property could benefit from a deeper clean, with some mentioning cobwebs, dust, and a need for more thorough cleaning. However, there are also positive comments about the property's tidiness, suggesting variability in experiences.

The location is highly praised for its centrality and proximity to local shops, pubs, and walking routes. The peaceful setting despite being close to the town centre is a recurring positive aspect mentioned by guests.

The comfort of the property is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the bedrooms comfortable and the living spaces relaxing. Some concerns were raised about the warmth of the rooms and the size of the beds, but overall, the comfort level is seen as satisfactory.

Facilities are modern and the kitchen is well-equipped, but guests have noted some maintenance issues such as leaks and electrical problems. The lack of basic supplies like wood for the fire and trays in the kitchen was also mentioned. Despite this, the high standard of appliances and design is acknowledged.

Several guests mentioned welcome touches like diffusers and a welcome pack with chocolates, coffee, tea, milk, and biscuits, which contributed to a positive experience. It is important to note that such gifts are a bonus and not guaranteed with every stay.

Grasmere is one of the prettiest and certainly the most famous of all the Lake District villages, sitting on the side of the lake that shares its name and surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. The village offers a great range of local shops and places to eat from welcoming tea rooms, cosy country pubs and fine dining. There is and endless choice of walks of all standard from the village as well as a choice of routes for those on two wheels for both mountain bikes and road bikes.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century and Grasmere Lake, plus Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland Wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.

Attention to detail on a couple of things. Complimentary Shower gel etc were empty, shower basket fell off the wall in 1 ensuite, skirting boards needed cleaning and dust in corners of ceiling. I live in a house built in the 1800's so am familiar. Herdy mugs needed bleaching. Some very stained and Dwasher did not remove stains. Kitchen clock needs a new battery. Tiny things but worth noting. Perfect for my birthday get away. Lewis restaurant was first class.

This is the 3rd time we stayed and would recommend it. Some improvements since last time - more utensils, including children cutlery, a welcome pack of chocolates, coffee, tea, milk & biscuits very welcome. Plus bin bags & dishwasher tablets coop in Grasmere is well stocked. heating is easy to use & water always warm. The coffee machine is nespresso & uses the original pods. Lakelovers didn’t know when I asked pre visit so letting others know. House is in a perfect location. Would recommend cafe grand @ grand hotel, Lewis bistro for dinner both in walking distance. House is great for multi generational families with 2 good size living rooms. Well decorated and nice to have the garden & courtyard outside too.

Found the beds slightly small but appreciate the lack of space to accommodate bigger beds. All in all for three generations we loved it and weather was hot and sunny and never needed a jacket which does not happen very often.
