Hovera, meaning eight in Cumbrian sheep counting, is a modern terraced property found in the popular village of Glenridding, on the south shores of Ullswater. On the ground floor there is an open kitchen/dining room with all the mod cons and comfort levels that you would expect. With a sun room and separate living room, with comfy seating around the large wood burner and views of St Sunday Crag and Fairfield, you will find it difficult to tear yourself out of these rooms. On the first floor is a large twin bedroom, which can be made into a super kingsize on request, also boasting great views. The bathroom is also on the floor with a bath and separate large shower. The second floor takes you to a double bedroom with a kingsize bed.
If your ideal holiday involves walking or cycling then you are already on the path to one of the Lake District National Park’s most famous peaks, Helvellyn. Alternatively, you can enjoy the picturesque views directly from your front door. You only need to walk outside Hovera to be on a popular walking route, but as the property is also situated in Glenridding, you are also just a short drive from Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside if you fancy taking in the local shops, pubs and cafés. Shop and restaurant 400 yards, pub 200 yards.

Beautiful views from the cottage and great location. Kitchen is well equipped - there is a cafetierre, hob, oven, microwave which is good to know before arriving. Also there is a hairdryer. WiFi was good. However the cleanliness must have gone downhill. Whilst everything you expect to be clean was (toilets, kitchen, floors etc) it had clearly been a long time since a deep clean. Very dusty in the bathroom and mould on the tiles (which just wiped off). Downstairs bathroom was also not very clean.The fire doors as others have mentioned are way too strong and I can see how they can be dangerous with kids. You can’t even carry something from the kitchen to the living room easily as the doors are so heavy!Cottages.com seem to have a blanket ban on dogs not being upstairs which we hadn’t realised until after booking - why can’t the dog rules which are in a t&c be displayed on the booking page? There were also more rules once arrived which weren’t clear before booking so would definitely not describe as dog friendly! Also check out instructions would be useful as we didn’t know whether to take the bins out. Just a bit more clarity needed!Also a lack of a key for the inside door to the kitchen - so only the porch door could be locked.

Honeva is a lovely, cozy cottage but was still spacious and had everything we would need.It is situated in a great location - its easy to get to and a short walk to Glenridding, but also has amazing views and fronts onto the track up to Helvellyn.

The views from this cottage are incredible, yet it is easy walking distance from the amenities in Glennridding. So peaceful, very well appointed, beautifully renovated and spacious. We had some issues with the TV but other than that everything was perfect.
