Guests say

Hazelrigg is a charming and cosy cottage in Windermere, highly praised for its stunning lake and mountain views, peaceful setting, and easy access to Bowness and the Lake District. Guests consistently mention the immaculate presentation, well-equipped kitchen, and relaxing atmosphere, making it ideal for families and groups. The outdoor space and garden are particular highlights. Some guests noted minor issues such as window ventilation, chipped crockery, and the need for an extra toilet or improved accessibility, but these did not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience.

Most guests found the property spotlessly clean and well-presented, with bedding and facilities described as immaculate. A few reviews mentioned stained mattresses and duvets, and chipped crockery, but these were exceptions rather than the norm.

The location is frequently described as perfect, with beautiful views over Lake Windermere and a short walk to Bowness. The peaceful setting and proximity to local attractions are highly valued, though the walk is noted as steep by some.

Guests found the cottage cosy and relaxing, with comfortable beds and a welcoming atmosphere. Some mentioned tight bedroom spaces and discomfort for taller guests due to bed frames, as well as a lack of a downstairs toilet, but overall comfort was rated highly.

The cottage is well-equipped with modern appliances, garden furniture, and everything needed for a pleasant stay. Some guests noted issues with window ventilation, chipped crockery, and the absence of a second toilet, but these were balanced by positive comments on the kitchen, outdoor space, and general amenities.

Guests appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, dog-friendly touches, and welcoming atmosphere. While a welcome pack was mentioned as missing by one guest, and gifts are not guaranteed, the overall impression is of a thoughtful and accommodating host.

Stunning views and nice feel inside the cottage. A big snug for our party and tight in the bedrooms, but the view made it worth it. May be helpful to provide more essentials for bigger groups and in line with other cottages. Good standard of cleanliness. Shame the advertised welcome pack was not there on arrival.

We had a wonderful stay at Hazelrigg with our family and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The cottage was absolutely lovely—beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we needed to feel comfortable throughout our visit. It had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it feel like a real home away from home. The location was perfect, offering stunning surroundings and a peaceful setting while still being within easy reach of everything the Lake District has to offer. It was an ideal base for exploring the area, with beautiful walks, picturesque villages, and breathtaking scenery all close by.We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hazelrigg and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing family getaway in the Lake District.

Lovely holiday home, outside space and views exceptional and made our holiday. The house was well equipped and the downstairs is very tastefully decorated to a high standard, only negative for us was we felt the upstairs let it down slightly, one of the double bedrooms you could hardly move around the bed, in our opinion although advertised as a three bedroom it would be better as two large double bedrooms with en-suite and for a three bedroom house needs an additional toilet, just one is unusual in a 3 bed. Easily walkable into the town. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved Bowness and the surrounding area.
