Kestrel Barn is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped facilities, including a hot tub. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like welcome treats and find the property spacious and well-maintained. The location offers scenic walks, though some guests noted limited local amenities and the need for caution when walking at night due to road conditions.

Guests consistently mention that the property is spotless and very clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The property is appreciated for its idyllic setting and proximity to walks, though some guests expressed concerns about road safety and limited local dining options.

The majority of guests found the furniture comfortable and the beds cosy, although a few noted that some bedrooms were smaller and less well-equipped than others.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen and hot tub. However, minor maintenance issues and suggestions for additional amenities like hairdryers and hangers were noted.

Many guests were delighted by the welcome gestures such as Prosecco and homemade bread. While these treats are highly appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

A great choice! Fantastic communication from Aiden prior to arrival, the Barn itself is perfect, it has been finished to a very high standard throughout, the kitchen was one of the most equipped from places I have stayed. The lounge furniture was very comfy, which cannot be said for many holiday lets. The linen and towels were very good quality. There are footpaths just outside the barn, for a good walk and it is very close the Peddars WayMy only concern, was the road and lack of pavement, meant you could not walk safely in the dark. There is not much choice for pubs for food in Swaffarm itself, Red lion was fantastic and very reasonable. We would not hestiate to stay again

We had a lovely weekend stay at Kestrel Barn. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. We had a lovely stay the barn and cant fault the property. Just two side points to add: Within the info folder the hosts did recommend the red lion pub. We went and were rudely greeted and when my 18 month old went to touch a fake Christmas present under the Christmas tree he was shouted at and the staff member placed their hands on him to turn him and push him away. We did not and would never return or recommend this establishment. On our final day there was an unwell cat that wouldnt leave the front of the property. It was crying, banging in to the windows, trying to get in. We contacted the host to ask for advice/whether it was their cat to be told no and its up to us ultimately to manage the situation. We called the RSPCA and an emergency vet to take it. It would have been nice to not have to managed this alone given we did not know the area and it impacted on our stay/enjoyment.

We stayed here as a group of 8 adults. We had 3 days lovely days in the beautiful Kestrel barn. It’s very comfortable, clean, with a well equipped kitchen, plus a bottle of Prosecco, biscuits, including some for our dog on arrival…which is always a very welcome gesture. We did think the bedrooms didn’t quite come up to our expectations. One room is enormous and extremely well equipped with wardrobe, tv, large bed, and a beautiful en-suite shower room. The remaining 3 however are very small, with limited hanging space, and very few hangers, and no hairdryers. There is nothing that can be done with the size of the rooms but we did think a hairdryer, and more clothes hangers in each room would have improved our stay. We did contact the owners re an EVO plug in. Maria was very quick to respond and extremely helpful. Whilst there are negative comments in this review I do hope this will be viewed as constructive feedback as opposed the complaints. It We would all definitely recommend Ketrel Barn to anyone else thinking of staying here.
