Feedback This cottage although looked nice from the photos has not been maintained properly in the last year or two. There are things broken in lots of places, the garden is unkempt, and there are cobwebs everywhere. To start with the outside as you arrive the garden is not swept the foliage is overgrown the house is full of cobwebs around all the windows. In the back yard the outside snug door is rotten, there are two fence panels next to the sheds that are there to cover up a mess of stuff and both are not attached and have fallen over. The back garden has overgrown foliage and weeds and dropped leaves that have not been swept and there are cobwebs everywhere. The undercover seating area was lovely but had to be swept and cleaned before we could use it and it was still full of cobwebs. As for the inside it was well cleaned in parts but still lots of cobwebs in corners and at the windows. The cupboard in the second bedroom had loose panels at the back that fell out when we used it. The main bathroom has strange wiring and electronics inside a cupboard which must be illegal as you’re not mean to have sockets in bathrooms. It also has an extractor fan close to the shower which is also illegal due to the danger in water getting inside. In the kitchen it did have a fridge as was advertised. However it was very small so small it didn’t even fit the gap, and no where near big enough to store food for more than one person for a week. There was a tiny freezer compartment but we had to scrape all the ice out before we could use it. The fridge was not cold enough either and mince we bought went off in three days on two occasions. The kitchen supplies were also poor - one tiny milk pan and a frying pan were the only pans provided. The owner did order us some new pans from Amazon though when we complained about this. We still needed to buy a bigger pan as what was bought was not big enough to make pasta for three people. All in all this cottage would be fine if I had paid about 400 less per week and it had a rating of 3/5 as I would have not expected a higher standard. But all the above it not what I expect from a cottage that costs over 1000 per week. Also the cleanliness and lack of maintenance in the outdoors space was really poor. The best thing about this cottage was the amenities near by - the beach was five minutes walk away and there was a lovely pub next door and tea room three mins walk away. If the place was maintained and modernised and had the right equipment and had any dangerous wiring removed my review would be much better.

A very sweet cottage with a lot of character, in the heart of the village and within minutes walk of the sea and dunes. Super clean, with everything you could need. Really useful to have off street parking. There is a lovely little courtyard garden with seating and a table, which was nice and cool to sit in on the hot summers evenings with a glass of wine. The cottage is close to the Fishermans Return which does a great range of food. Winterton-on-Sea is a great base for walking, nature and beach holidays with nearby access to the Broads.Would highly recommend all round.
