We had an excellent week. The cottage is lovely and cozy, the space was great. Beds were comfortable and we had everything that we needed. We had children with us and there was lots of lovely toys and books to keep them entertained. The stairs are a bit steep if you’re limited with mobility but they weren’t an issue for us.The location of the cottage is excellent, right in the middle of Wells and within minutes of everywhere. We managed to fit two cars on the drive which was great as we managed to have day trips out to Cromer and Sheringham too without having to worry about parking. Would absolutely recommend Jicklings to anyone- we’ll be back!

Situated in a wonderful central location, the property is old, as it should be, hence allowances have to be made, but that doesn’t detract from the homeliness. Wells is so typically Norfolk and always charming, slowing down the pace of life vital for a relaxing holiday.

First the positives. It’s a quirky old house which was originally two properties, I think, and is adequately furnished. Location wise you couldn’t be in a better position with its own parking right in the middle of Wells. The views from the top floor bedrooms are amazing. The bed we used was very comfortable and the price not bad.However, the description states parking for two cars but no way would you get two on unless very small ones.The outside area didn’t give a good first impression with dead plants in the pots, weeds and discarded cigarette ends to welcome you. It looked so sad that I pulled most of the weeds and nettles and bought some flowers for the pots!There is a damp smell in the property but we just threw all the windows open.I would say that although it sleeps up to eight, six would be a more realistic number.The stairs are not suitable for anybody who is a bit wobbly on their legs although we thought it was part of its charm.I would say that a good deep clean at the very least is a must for Jicklings. There were no pillow protectors on our bed and the pillows and duvet had numerous stains on them. The sofa’s, although comfortable, are also stained and dirty looking.Having said all this I would consider returning but the owners really need to keep on top of the cleanliness and general upkeep of it.
