The barn was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The only disappointment was the "garden" which was full of nettles and thistles, and the fence was too open, so wasn't secure for the dogs, or sheep who could climb through. We had to keep dogs on lead at all times, and was unable to open patio doors, until we put the dining table across the opening. We had some lovely walks down to the river, and would return to Barney.

Had a great short break to attend a wedding in nearby Lartington Hall. Very comfortable cottage with everything you need. Plenty of parking. Weather was amazing so often sat on the patio outside enjoying the great view. Comfortable beds and quality bed linens and towels. We had our 8 year old and 11 year old with us and they wanted to stay forever! Short walk into Barnard Castle. Would love to come back and stay again.

A beautifully done out barn conversion just outside Castle Barnard and with wobderfulviews across open fields. The facilities are great: one good bathromm with a nice shower, and a second toilet. Two good bedrooms which were mercifully cool (the temperature when we were there was 30C), and with extremely comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen and small utility room. Amazon Fire TV, so good access to streaming platforms. Loads of places to go within a thirty mile radius.Would readily recommend this property.
