The peaceful, scenic location is ideal for relaxation and exploring the surrounding area, though a car is essential. The hot tub and log fires add to the cosy atmosphere. Minor issues such as sensitive fire alarms, occasional heating problems, and some maintenance niggles are mentioned, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience.

Excellent property for an idyllic holiday in beautiful surroundings. If I had to find fault it would be the WiFi and fluffy cushions in living room need replacing

Amazing week at Whittle Dene beautiful fully equipped home in a gorgeous location. Everything we wanted. Only one hiccup the central heating/hot water boiler broke down on two occasions which gave us two very cold afternoon and overnight. To be fair it was a bank holiday but it was addressed fairly quickly. Would definitatly recommend and would have no hesitation in rebooting.

Can not recommend this house enough!! A home away from home, the kitchen was stocked with every utensil, pot and pan you will need. The additional air fryer was perfect for quick meals and snacks. The beds and sofas were comfy with extra blankets and throws for cooler evenings. The log fires in the lounge and dinning room added to the cosy vibe. As previously mentioned the fire alarms are sensitive to the heat. The house is remote so a car is essential but shops are only 15 minute journey away. We loved the hot tub, when the children were inside on the ps4, it was the perfect peaceful spot to birdwatch and relax. Slight negatives, the radiator in the master bedroom makes a lot of noise and the room can be a little chilly. The washing machine seemed to be using hot water, despite choosing a 30degree wash our clothes came out steaming and wrinkled. The hot tub was checked daily but not always at the same time, our dog can be a little reactive to strangers so this was a concern that they may just turn up while she was in the garden. Also a mat at the back door for wet feet/ changing post hot tub would have been good. We used a bath mat.The perfect base for exploring nearby Hadrians wall, Northumberlandia and Cresswell. We loved our trip so much we booked again for next year!
