About this property

Bamburgh 3.7 miles. Settled into the beautiful hamlet of Lucker, near Bamburgh, this stunning stone-built cottage offers wonderful accommodation for a family or group of adults looking to visit the coast of Northumberland. Park off-road and unpack with ease into this pretty property, where two large arched windows allow in seas of light into a tasteful and airy sitting room. Traditional roof beams rest above a stone fireplace, a hint of history now housing a woodburning stove which you can relax beside in the leather furniture and enjoy a good book. Continuing the charm of the sitting room, the kitchen/diner is simply stunning, with black tiled floors, roofbeams threaded throughout and a contemporary kitchen housing all of the amenities you will need to cook up a storm. Enjoy a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles before settling down for the night in one of the tree bedrooms, beginning with a fantastic king-size with storage, tasteful furniture, roof beams and a handy en-suite, and there is also a homely double and twin bedroom. Outside, dine alfresco with the picturesque surrounding cottages at the table and chairs making the most of the sunshine. Lucker is a lovely hamlet offering countryside walks and discounted meals at two local eateries, The Apple Inn and The Apple Core, so why not enjoy a meal out with a glass of your favourite beverage? Bamburgh is the closest town, with its amazing castle and selection of eateries, and there is also a wonderful sandy beach. Within easy reach from here is the historic island of Holy Island, where you will be able to explore Lindisfarne Castle, Castle Point Lime Kilns, Lindisfarne Priory and a selection of independant shops, eateries, walks and beaches. Make a coastal holiday to remember with a stay at the beautiful Goldfinch.

The pretty Northumberland village of Lucker lies in the heart of Heritage countryside, midway between the A1 and Bamburgh. The historic coastal village of Bamburgh, with its sweeping beaches and dramatic castle, is only a short drive away with an array of excellent pubs, restaurants and gift shops. Lucker itself offers a good pub serving excellent food and a restaurant serving traditional french crépes and freshly cooked pizzas. Lucker is ideally placed for discovering the Cheviots, the stunning Northumberland Coastline and the Scottish Borders.

Although cottage was lovely and cosy we all had issues with the beds mattresses were very uncomfortable two off our party ended up with back pain (two seperate beds) felt like springs or coils were coming through which we did mention on our feedback in cottage everything else in cottage was lovely but you do need a good sleep

Very comfortable and spacious, ideal when you have dogs downstairs to clean away paw prints. Maintenance came straight away to fix a broken loo seat found on arrival. They hadn't however got the message about ordering a highchair and cot, but they were brought over immediately. The welcome pack was great, local produce. We had Sunday lunch at the Apple Inn, it was poor quality for the price, which was a shame, actually the same price as Whittling House in Alnmouth which is fantastic. The spa was lovely, especially the full body massage.

Good to have a pub and cafe in the village too. Some of the furnishing and particularly kitchen equipment was a little tired and stale and needs updating
