This charming stone-built, period holiday cottage dates back to the 1840’s and is situated in the heart of the village, midway between Craster and Alnwick. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is perfectly located for exploring this unspoilt county and set on a Heritage Coastal route with some of the finest beaches in Britain. Within 1 mile from a secluded sandy bay and coastal walks. Nearby is the village post office. Alnwick, 4 miles, with the castle used as ‘Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter films. Bottle of wine on arrival. Shop 200 yards, pub 1½ miles, restaurant 2 miles.

Lovely cottage, lovely area. A wee bit out of the way but if you have a car, that's not an issue. Local people are very friendly. Would recommend

We very much enjoyed our stay at Alncroft. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and pretty. If you're 6ft plus you might need to 'duck' a bit but we couldn't have wished for a better cottage or location. A big attraction for us is the beach at the end of the lane - about 25 minutes walk to reach a beautiful, open beach - this is great if it's your dog's first visit to the seaside. A shout out to the Running Fox for coffee and breakfast - about one minute's walk away. The surrounding area is beautiful too. We made it to Cragside (amazing and recommended), Craster (it's a long but do-able walk and a good pub there) and Alnwick was also a pleasant day out (the gardens, Barter Books). Oh - decent wi-fi too! :-) Have a good holiday!
