Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Warm and comfortable. The kitchen let you down. It was dirty in places. I have left a note about lack of cleanliness and lack of good equipment. Mostly probably only noticeable with use.

Very cosy, excellent facilities - under floor heating, powerful shower, dishwasher, washing machine, sea views etc. No carpet, all cardine floors which are ideal for dogs. The owner was friendly and responsive but not in the least intrusive. Highly recommended, thank you.

Near to a train line but couldn't hear the trains at all. The owners were very helpful before our visit answering our questions about wheelchair access. We took our portable wheelchair ramp to make it easier to get over the front door step but once inside the cottage was wheelchair accessible. Nice break away. Would recommend.
