Number 1 in Alnwick is a spacious, well-equipped cottage praised for its excellent location close to the town centre and local attractions. Guests consistently highlight the comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, and dog-friendly features. The property is generally clean and cosy, with thoughtful touches such as information packs and emergency torches. Some guests noted minor issues with heating, condensation, and occasional lapses in cleanliness or supplies, but overall, the property offers a welcoming and convenient base for exploring Alnwick and Northumberland.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, with particular praise for the bathrooms and kitchen. However, a few reviews mentioned issues such as damp, mould, cobwebs, and leftover dog food, which affected their experience. These isolated incidents slightly lower the overall impression of cleanliness.
The location is frequently described as excellent, with easy walking access to Alnwick town centre, shops, restaurants, and attractions. The only minor drawback mentioned is the steep hill, which may be challenging for those with mobility issues.
Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and a cosy lounge. The property is generally warm and inviting, though a few guests found it cold during winter due to single glazing and had difficulty adjusting the heating.
The cottage is praised for being well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and having useful amenities such as WiFi, two bathrooms, and enclosed gardens. Some guests noted the absence of a tumble dryer, limited starter packs for the log burner, and occasional missing supplies, but overall facilities are highly rated.
Guests appreciated touches like information packs, emergency torches, and the heating being on for arrival. While some mentioned starter packs for the log burner and basic condiments, these are not guaranteed for every stay.

Stayed over New Year with the parents. Really enjoyed it. Very roomy. Lovely to see the property lit up for Christmas and the heating already on for our arrival. Property is very well equipped and authentically pleasing. Had a brief power cut during our stay, Problem with national grid. The owner was very quick to let us know from information that he had received and to offer any help if we needed it.Location is great for many areas. Would recommend this property.
