Quill Corner is a beautifully refurbished cottage in the heart of Alnwick, praised for its excellent central location, private parking, and peaceful setting. Guests consistently highlight its comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches throughout. The property is ideal for couples or small families seeking a convenient base to explore Northumberland. While the majority of feedback is highly positive, a few guests noted the shower could be improved and mentioned occasional issues with mattress comfort and deep cleaning. Overall, Quill Corner offers a welcoming and enjoyable stay with many returning guests.
Most guests found the cottage very clean and well maintained, with only a few mentioning minor issues such as dust, mould in specific areas, or the need for a deeper clean. The overall impression is of a tidy and well-kept property.
The location is universally praised, with guests loving the central yet quiet setting, proximity to shops, restaurants, and attractions, as well as the convenience of a private parking space.
Guests describe the cottage as comfortable and cosy, with a homely atmosphere. Some mention the beds or mattresses could be improved, and a few note the property can be cold on arrival in winter, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The cottage is very well equipped for self-catering, with many extras such as games, books, and kitchen supplies. The main recurring criticism is the weak shower and occasional maintenance issues like heating controls or hoover, but these are outweighed by the positives.
Guests appreciate the attention to detail, such as spare batteries, a torch, sewing kit, and supplies for children. While some mention thoughtful touches, please note that gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

Quill corner is a delightful period property, convenient for everything in the centre of Alnwick, all accessible via the passageways from the central courtyard. It is extremely comfortable and well equipped, and benefits from its own parking space. Restaurants, pubs, shops, fish & chips, the Playhouse, all in walking distance. The coast and places to walk/visit inland also within easy reach. Our only complaint is the completely inadequate shower. Very low water pressure and not difficult to access. Not a pleasure! If I knew this was sorted, I would book again.

Very comfortable cottage, centrally located for easy access to town centre facilities. Parking space was very handy

We stayed in Quill Corner for a week in March, had a wonderful visit. The cottage is ideally located for direct access into beautiful Alnwick ( literally 2 minutes from the doorway) BUT you wouldn’t know it, it’s tucked away in a small courtyard and is so peaceful. The accommodation has all you could need, is comfortable and clean, warm and cozy, ideal for couples or small families (kids will love the place, there’s plenty of games to keep them busy). Over all I’d say it’s worth every penny, would definitely consider Quill if we ever return to the area (the parking space is a big advantage) although there’s a free 24 hour c/park 5 minutes away from the cottage). If I’m being really picky, the only let down in the place was the electric shower, it’s quite weak, if that was addressed the place would be a 5* rating, but that’s just our personal choice. Thanks Quill, we enjoyed your hospitality.
