Only one and a half miles from the historic market town of Alnwick, this charming barn conversion is set on a small, quiet development in a peaceful location tucked away just outside the hamlet of Denwick. This area is ideal for exploring Alnwick with its fine castle, used in Harry Potter films and in the 2014 Downton Abbey TV series. Visit Alnwick Gardens or stroll the cobbled streets with its fine selection of shops and eateries. The golden beaches of the Heritage coast are nearby with miles of unspoilt golden sands peppered with historic castles and friendly villages nestling along this aonb. A short drive west will take you to the breathtaking views of the Cheviot Hills and on to the Northumberland National Park. Relax in the enclosed front garden after a day’s exploration whilst planning your next day out around the many visitor attractions around this friendly and unspoilt county. An ideal area for golf, fly fishing, walking and cycling.

Fantastic week away at The Steadings, primarily chosen as it had an enclosed garden ( quite a rare thing ) to keep our dog safe, easy to navigate to as instructions were precise including finding the correct front door as it is in a row of cottages. Instantly smelt fresh and clean as we entered and it was warm! Again this is another bonus as in the past we’ve turned up to properties that were freezing and it can take forever to get warm. Lovely furniture in lounge and nice fitted kitchen with most things to hand ( could do with a few more glass microwaveable dishes). Log burner was nice but we didn’t do very well with the smokeless fuel, took a lot of fiddling with to achieve anything decent, probably needs logs .. bedrooms and bathrooms all perfectly acceptable with loads of hot water on tap. We loved our week in a Northumberland and it was made all the better by staying at The Steadings. Close to Alnwick for all your shopping needs and a beautiful walk along the river Aln behind the town/castle perfect to take the dog without driving miles and miles, loads of sight seeing again close to hand with beautiful beaches, castles etc.

A lovely week in the Steadings with our dog. The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and all to a very high standard. Multifuel stove to enjoy in the evening. Beautiful beach walks close by. Easy to Alnwick- shops and the Castle. Would highly recommend.
