Stonecrop Cottage is set in a stunning, quiet village location, ideal for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat. Guests appreciate the proximity to countryside walks and a local pub serving great food. The property offers a cosy conservatory and a comfortable king-sized bed, though some guests have noted areas for improvement.
Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including cobwebs, a dirty kitchen, and a general need for a deep clean. The presence of insects and the state of the garden also contribute to the low score.
The cottage's location is frequently praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with easy access to nature and a local pub. The distance from the nearest town is noted, but the location is generally seen as a positive aspect.
Guests find the bed comfortable and the conservatory warm on sunny days. However, some mention the main room being cool and dark, and issues with a dangerous electric towel rail and parking inconvenience due to an ATV.
The property is described as having potential but in need of attention. Guests report maintenance issues such as a leaking conservatory, overgrown garden, and lack of parking. The need for updates and repairs is evident.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

The photos on your website must have been taken a long time ago I would say, and I would be interested in the date when your last inspection took place. There was no wifi despite your site saying there was. The rear garden is indescribable really and is unusable, I doubt a gardener has worked on it recently. I left after an hour of arriving at the cottage, needless to say my holiday was ruined, and I had to arrange alternative accommodation at great expense. Sykes are misrepresenting the quality of the property and having paid over £500 for the week I am definitely unhappy. Therefore I would expect your company to fully refund my money and also remove this property from the listings.

We were able to walk directly from the property and within minutes were in the open countryside. The property was larger that we expected from the images. Well equipped with everything we needed to cater for a two week stay. We found that the garden is not secure for our dogs - they can easily get around the gate using the steps to the upper part of the property so we improvised and an additional barrier and then that was fine.

The floor level light to the bathroom fell off. The black coffee table needs repair. The bed should be swept underneath. The bed is comfortable though. We did not care for the new table in the conservatory as it leaves little room to relax in there like we did last year and there is still a perfectly good dining table to eat off in the main room.
