One of the biggest towns in Northumberland, Ashington is fantastic and offers a wide range of amenities. There are vibrant markets with bunting where customers can buy genuine goods from small stalls, as well as restaurants serving regional cuisine. A lovely location with a stunning lake is Queen Elizabeth II Country Park, and Ashington Community Woodland is excellent for walkers and wildlife observers. In the Woodhorn Museum, a disused coal mine from the 19th century that now houses regional artwork and artefacts, learn about the town's farming and mining past.
