Hilly Brow is a well-received holiday cottage in Northumberland, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and well-equipped nature. Guests have enjoyed its proximity to the beach and local amenities, as well as the comfortable furnishings and homely feel. The property's garden and views are also appreciated, contributing to a relaxing stay. While there was a minor issue with heating and hot water, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.
The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with only one mention of a minor issue that does not detract significantly from the overall high standards of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its quietness, proximity to the beach, and ease of access to local attractions, making it an excellent base for holidays.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the house warm and inviting, with only a single mention of potentially scalding hot water indicating a slight concern for safety.
The property is well-equipped with kitchen utensils, entertainment options, and a secure garden. However, a brief period without heating or hot water suggests room for improvement in maintenance.
Several reviews mention thoughtful touches like a welcoming cake and tea bags, contributing to the property's homely feel. While these gestures are warmly received, they may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

We had a lovely time, the house was beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Everything that we needed was available from utensils and cooking equipment in the kitchen, fluffy pillows and extra throws and comfy beds in the bedrooms, hot showers with large towels, to dvds, books and games. The garden was beautifully maintained and a lovely spot to sit outdoors and relax. We really canât fault anything, itâs very obvious that a lot of thought and care has been put into ensuring that guests have a relaxed and very happy holiday, we certainly did and would highly recommend.

The beds were very comfortable, everything we needed , just like home from home . Loved the sunny garden , and when the sun came out ( late afternoon) it was lovely to sit out and have a glass of wine . Just a couple of minor things , the hot water , we thought, was scorching and could burn someone if they're not aware . Also , which was quite amusing nobody on the road seemed to know which bins to put out , there were quite a few ( all different) just left out all week ,. It was like hazard a guess as to which bin so we just put all out lol. All in all the owners should be proud of the lovely home they've created , lots of thoughtful little touches . Thank you
