About this property

A detached house only 500 yards from Beadnell's vast sandy beach and with views across to the sweeping bay from the first floor. Situated on a quiet estate in the centre of the village, Bar Harbour offers comfortable, well-equipped accommodation, including a spacious sitting room, en-suite to the master bedroom and a large garden. The sandy beach is just a stone's throw away, while the rest of the area offers golf courses, sea fishing, watersports and more. The market town of Alnwick, with its famous castle and gardens, is a short drive away, while Seahouses, Holy Island and the rest of the glorious Heritage Coast are on the doorstep, waiting to be discovered.

Situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline, this attractive and peaceful harbour village is a well-placed spot for anyone looking to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday. Once an important Saxon fishing village and later a haven for smugglers, Beadnell is somewhat more tranquil these days and is popular amongst holiday makers for its sandy beaches, village shop and pubs, which serve food. With another renowned village nearby – Seahouses – the range of local amenities increases to include a supermarket and various restaurants as well as boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands. These small outcrops are famed amongst bird watchers for their wealth of species. However, if you're looking for a more urban environment Bamburgh is close by, as is the market town of Alnwick.

We only found out the afternoon prior to arrival when I chased the owner for the details of welcome info. We have never let our dog on any furniture, but he normally sleeps in his own bed on the landing. He stayed in the hall, but didn’t settle. This is something that should definitely be put in the listing as it could be an issue to future renters. The only other point is, it would have been nice to have a blind in the en-suite as it faces the road, it did have opaque glass. I would recommend this property, but Sykes listing needs to be amended.

Good facilities and great for dogs. Great response from owner when we needed small issue sorted. Would certainly recommend. Thank you

The new sofas and chairs are a great improvement and very comfy. Very clean and warm. Beds are lovely, slept very well. The only slight niggle is the unpredictable shower in the main bathroom- too hot then cold at times. Other than that, perfect. We have booked up again for early December!
