Snuggled within the heart of the welcoming coastal village of Beadnell, this lovely semi-detached extended bungalow is tucked in a peaceful cul-de-sac and has been refurbished to an excellent standard to provide a superb holiday cottage. The accommodation within The Five Fishers is fresh, beautifully co-ordinated and immaculately presented throughout with the added convenience of being all on ground floor level. The master bedroom boasts an en-suite wet room and the family bathroom and spacious kitchen enjoy a contemporary ambience too. There is a lovely enclosed patio area at the rear; an idyllic spot to dine al fresco.

Had a great week between Christmas and New year. The bungalow was lovely and warm and very well equipped. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. Such a peaceful setting and only a couple of minutes from the sea. We would definitely return.

Unfortunately I do feel it could be better, and they’re only small changes but they are significant.Firstly, garden maintenance. First impressions are everything, so when you’re met with a garden full of weeds and thistles it’s not a good start!When we arrived the kitchen bin lid was broken, as was the toaster and the cleaner had left her cardigan over the back of a chair. Again, not a fantastic first impression. The bin and toaster were replaced quickly, so that’s a plus point. No welcome pack is another negative - it doesn’t have to be much, a pint of milk and a packet of biscuits would suffice, but nothing at all isn’t very welcoming.So, we didn’t get off to a great start and our initial rating was going to be 2*. However, the bungalow was very clean and comfortable and in a perfect location for exploring the surrounding area. The beach is only a few minutes walk away as are the local amenities. The fact that the manager knew about the problems with the bin and toaster and had already ordered replacements was another plus, so our overall rating increased to 4* (well, 3.5 but you can’t award half a star!). Tidy up the gardens and provide a small welcome pack and it could easily achieve 5*.Love Beadnell and will be returning, but the likelihood is that we’ll be staying in a different property. This one is ok but lacks the wow factor.
