Guests say

Water's Edge Holiday Home offers a peaceful retreat with beautiful views over a lake, providing a tranquil setting for relaxation and wildlife watching. Guests appreciate the easy access to beaches, local shops, and eateries, as well as the comfortable sunroom and decking area. While the property is generally clean and well-equipped, some guests noted areas for improvement in maintenance and exterior appearance. The location is ideal for exploring the Northumberland coast, and thoughtful touches such as welcome baskets have been mentioned, though these are not guaranteed. Overall, the property is well-suited for a relaxing getaway.

Most guests found the property clean and tidy, but several reviews mentioned issues such as dust, cobwebs, dirty utensils, and areas needing more thorough cleaning. Some also noted the need for better upkeep of outdoor furniture and the exterior.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to beaches, local amenities, and scenic walks. The tranquil lakeside setting and easy access to attractions are standout features, though a few guests commented on the approach through a residential estate.

Many guests described the home as comfortable and cosy, enjoying the beds, sofas, and sunroom. However, some found the main bed uncomfortable and mentioned issues with bedding and furniture quality, which affected their stay.

The property offers good facilities such as a sunroom, decking, washer-dryer, and kitchen equipment. However, guests reported maintenance issues including an iced-up freezer, broken drawers, poor water pressure, and a need for more basic equipment and better parking arrangements.

Several guests appreciated welcome baskets and small touches, though it should be noted these are not guaranteed for every stay. The provision of essentials and a well-equipped kitchen were also mentioned positively.

We had a great stay at Water's Edge. The small lake attracted hundreds of birds; Martins and swallows in particular. The beaches nearby are glorious. It's 60 years since we played football on Beadnell beach and learned to sail at Lower Newton. Those beaches have barely changed. The Craster Arms is a 5 minute walk away, lovely local. The accommodation was excellent.

The location was great but the property itself was ok but its cleanliness left a lot to be desired , needed some TLC . We felt that it didn't live up to the price that was paid .
