Pet-friendly and welcoming, it offers a perfect retreat for families or small groups, offering two double bedrooms, one with a double bunkbed (double on the bottom, single on top). Your dog will love it here, with scenic walks and open countryside nearby.
This charming home is a fantastic base for an inexpensive adventure holiday, exploring one of the UK’s most adventurous and peaceful regions. Alongside the village runs the C2C cycle route and Coast to Coast Walk. Nearby lakes (Ennerdale and Loweswater, see photos, plus Crummock and Buttermere a little further away) offer tranquil and unspoiled landscapes for nature lovers, scenic lakeside or hilly walking-trails and open water swimming and paddle boarding. There is also horse riding and fishing nearby (Longlands Lake, Ennerdale, Harrington and sea fishing -subject to licencing and permits). After a day spent hiking, biking, or visiting the nearby lakes and villages, return to unwind in comfort and maybe head to the Brewery for dinner and a locally crafted beer.
The neighbouring villages have local shops, cafes and take-aways and just behind the house is a playing field with rugby and football pitch, children’s play-area and social club. The home has high-chair, travel cot (please BYO covers) and an enclosed rear yard with washing line. At time of writing a stair gate has not been fitted. Please note the stairs are fairly steep and there is a step into the shower -see photos.
Additional local attractions, within 30 minutes radius include beaches (St Bees, Seascale), the port-town of Whitehaven or Cockermouth, Wordsworth’s childhood home, Whinlatter Park, Go Ape, Keswick or La’al Ratty, the famous Cumbrian miniature railway line.
