The house is ideal for exploring Maryport and the surrounding area, making it a popular choice for families and groups.

Several guests praised the general cleanliness and presentation, but multiple reviews highlighted issues such as dusty skirting boards, dirty windows, cobwebs, and bins not being emptied. Some guests felt the property would benefit from a deeper clean, particularly in bathrooms and kitchen areas.

Guests found the house spacious, warm, and comfortable, with many appreciating the large bedrooms and comfortable beds. Some suggested king-size beds would be preferable in larger rooms, but overall comfort was highly rated.

The property is described as well-equipped and spacious, with good kitchen facilities and ample space for families. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as faulty bins, lighting, heating controls, and a difficult balcony door, but these did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Harbour gates is located well for all the local amenities, I would recommend going to the sea life centre a few yards away from the house. Cafes pubs etc are just a short walk away, the locals are very friendly with some great information. Harbour gates itself was clean and tidy, and easy to find. The property could do with a couple of things just to look at, the gate has dropped needs new hinges. Also could do with some extra information on the heating instructions as we couldn’t control the heating. But we would definitely recommend a week at harbour gates, once the issues have been sorted . Lovely quirky modern house in a quiet location. Great views and loved the balcony. Great location to explore the lakes plus Cumbria. Train a short walk away.

A wonderful home and location but a few small details require owner's attention to ensure a better score:Garden path floods in the rain and water sits until warm enough to evaporate.Cleaning requires improvement as the stairwells and bannisters had grimy fingerprints everywhere.Window frames require a deep clean.Kitchen bin and 1st floor ensuite bin both faulty.Mixed waste bin was already full upon arrival on 17th August and thus was overflowing by departure on 24th August despite being told that this would be emptied every other Tuesday, I do not believe it was emptied on the 11th August and definitely was NOT emptied on the 18th.~The harbourside location was superb with a decent choice of nearby eateries, pubs and supermarkets and regular bus and train services to Carlisle, Workington and Whitehaven.
