The Duddon Estuary, a protected area significant for birds and other species, is located near the mouth of the Haverigg settlement on the south-west coast of Cumbria, England, which was traditionally a part of the county of Cumberland. There is a large, serene Blue Flag beach in Haverigg. Additionally, there is access to a seawall with a lighthouse that guards Hodbarrow Lagoon, which is a portion of the Hodbarrow rspb Reserve. We loved the big TV and space in the lounge area for us all to sit in comfort. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. Haverigg and the local area is beautiful and we had some lovely early morning walks and it benefits from being less touristy than some parts of the Lake District. We visited Millom for an evening out and would recommend visiting Broughton-in-Furness and The Blacksmiths Arms in Broughton Mills.

Comfy sofas and huge tv in the lounge. Little courtyard for drinks outside. Easy parking right outside the cottage. Couldnât fault it.

2 mins from the beach for the dog to run around and handy local shop. Good base for exploring the Lakes (we spent a lovely day in Coniston). The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable, the welcome gift appreciated and the owner very helpful. Only suggested additions would be a hairdryer and some champagne glasses.
