This property offers excellent value for money and is located just off the town centre of Workington. Here you’ve got plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy within walking distance and you’re just a short drive from the Lake District, golf courses, beaches and plenty of attractions. There’s a great selection of pubs nearby, and Friday and Saturday nights can be a bit noisy with loud music from the local bars, so if nightlife isn’t your thing, this probably isn’t the place for you. On the other hand, if you want to join in with the fun, you’ve not got far to go for a few drinks and a dance. Sunday to Thursday is quieter if you just want to relax and unwind.
Over three floors, you have a double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower over the bath on the second floor. The first floor houses a living room with easy seating and a TV; the sofa converts into a double bed so you can sleep up to three adults or two adults and two children comfortably. On the ground floor, there’s a kitchen/dining room with everything you need to prepare a home-cooked meal. Overall, this property is well-equipped, comfortable and really handy to explore the bustling town centre.
You are close to several popular tourist attractions and areas. Jump in the car and you are just 20 minutes from the long stretch of beach at Allonby or 25 minutes to the sandy beaches of St Bees. The popular harbour of Whitehaven is just 20 minutes away, as is the traditional market town of Cockermouth with an abundance of eateries, cafés, delis and independent shops. You can reach the tourist magnet of Keswick in 30 minutes and Bassenthwaite with The Lake District Wildlife Park and The Lakes Distillery in 25 minutes.
If you love the outdoors, there’s beautiful scenery and popular walking trails all around. One of the most scenic areas of the Lake District is the drive via Loweswater, Crummock and Buttermere over the Honister Pass around the side of Derwentwater to Keswick, so if you like natural beauty and sightseeing, this is one not to be missed. Whatever your reasons for coming to Cumbria, Market Place is a great starting point, especially for a budget-conscious traveller. Beach 2 miles. Pub and restaurant 100 yards.

You get what you pay for, The cottage met all my basic needs, some hand soap would of been nice. Noticable smell of damp and ants in kitchen. Overall, not a great stay.

When you turn up at the house, it’s down an alley which is not in the best position. We arrived to a error message on the boiler after resetting thought it would be fine but had to relocated after 3 days as the boiler was broken, the house was unclean we had to wash all cutlery and dishes. The house is cold even when heating worked due to windows and stairs either side of the lounge. Cottage’s were very good in relocating as the boiler couldn’t be fixed.

The house was great. Loved the kitchen, the living room was cozy and the bathroom was good. It didn't have any weird smell but the owner didn't had shampoo and hand soap. The bedroom was amazing and I really liked the small radiator that they had in the room. I definitely recommended it
