The Waterfall Retreat in Penrith is highly praised for its beautiful location, spacious and comfortable accommodation, and excellent amenities including a hot tub, sauna, and picturesque waterfall. Guests have enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations, appreciating the attentive service provided. Some minor issues with maintenance and cleanliness were noted, but overall experiences have been overwhelmingly positive.
Most guests found the property to be comfortable and passable in cleanliness, though some noted room for improvement and specific issues with mould and a dirty fridge. These instances suggest that while generally satisfactory, there is inconsistency in the standard of cleanliness.
The location is consistently lauded for its peacefulness and natural beauty, with the waterfall being a unique and appreciated feature. Its proximity to sightseeing spots and ease of access from the M6 also contribute to its high rating.
Guests have reported the house to be warm and the beds very comfortable, with ample space for large groups. Some concerns were raised about noise from creaky floors and variable water pressure, but overall, the property is seen as a comfortable retreat.
The property's facilities, including the hot tub, sauna, and air hockey, are highlights for many guests. However, some maintenance issues like mould, a non-functioning sauna light, and stiff hot tub controls slightly mar the experience.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host, aside from attentive service. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The charming old village of Orton sits in a secluded position where the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales meets the eastern fringe of the Lake District National Park. Along with its better-known neighbours of Kendal, Sedbergh and Appleby-in-Westmorland, the area is surrounded by lovely rolling countryside and beautiful scenery. Above the village sits Orton Scar, a limestone hill, used in days gone by to warn the village of Scottish raiders and popular today with walkers. The village centre has an imposing 16th century church, local pub serving good food, a Post Office/shop and the famous handmade chocolate shop and tea room. A lovely village green surrounded by 17th and 18th Century cottages adds to its charm and there is a farmers’ market in the village square on the second Saturday of every month. Take a short drive and discover the unspoilt lake of Haweswater, or take advantage of the excellent road links to the Lake District, the Eden Valley and the rest of the Yorkshire Dales.

Enjoyed by all. The only negatives we have are that the ground floor bedrooms smelt of damp and had mold on the walls. This is a health hazard so it should be looked at. The fridge in the main kitchen was dirty inside and more toilet roll would have been nice to have access to. Other than that we would all definitely recommend Waterfall Retreat to others.

We were celebrating a big birthday and the house and surroundings were definitely the icing on the cake. A beautiful property with lots of little places to unwind and relax. I really did not want to leave.
Claire
The setting was beautiful with the hot tub sauna and beck - all perfect. Thank you again
