New for 2022 a stunning lodge with lakeside views one double with en suite, one double and one twin with bathroom. Fibre-optic Wi-Fi. Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room with doors to a private terrace, seating area and an outdoor bubbling hot tub. The kitchen features a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler, washing machine and tumble dryer, and there is also a utility room with a sink for washing boots. The perfect location for a family holiday.

Early check-in at 2pm is available at this site but must be booked and paid for at least 1 week prior to arrival. Due to the fact that lodges need to be cleaned and hot tubs drained, cleaned and refilled after every guest has vacated, check-in time is strictly 3pm onwards at this site unless an early check-in has been booked prior to arrival".
There will be that routine grounds maintenance being undertaken on the lakes to remove reeds growing in the lakes. This will be undertaken in all the lakes on site and should not affect your stay in any way apart from the slight noise of the machinery on site.

he lodge itself was fantastic—spotlessly clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. Having a washing machine and tumble dryer was a real bonus, as it meant less to do when we got home. The wine fridge was a lovely surprise, and the kitchen had everything you could need, including a microwave, oven, hob, fridge, kettle, and all the usual utensils.It was also lovely sharing the grounds with the local wildlife. We regularly saw swans, ducks, moorhens, rabbits, geese, and other birds, which added to the peaceful atmosphere.The location was excellent, with plenty of amenities nearby. The Shovels Inn was only a five-minute walk away, and there's also a fish and chip shop next to the petrol station just outside the site (although we didn't try it). Poulton-le-Fylde is less than a 10-minute drive away, with ALDI, Lidl, and a good selection of local shops for stocking up. Lytham, St Annes, Blackpool, and Fleetwood are all within a short drive, making this a great base for exploring the area.We had a meal at The Shovels Inn, which was excellent. We also visited the restaurant at Brickhouse Cottages, around a mile away. They serve burgers, pizzas, and similar dishes. It's part of a wonderful estate that supports people with disabilities, and the on-site restaurant is open to everyone.My only minor criticisms were that the booking photos show the VIP lodge overlooking what appears to be a large stretch of water. In reality, this seems to depend on which lodge you're allocated. There are several pockets of water around the site, but ours overlooked a pond where the reeds had become very overgrown, leaving only a narrow stretch of water visible (resembling a small non-flowing burn). It certainly didn't spoil our stay, but it wasn't quite what we had expected from the photos. I knocked a star off the evaluation for that. I would have given it 4.5 if half stars were allowed.We could also hear some traffic from the nearby main road while sitting on the balcony or in the hot tub. Our lodge was closest to the road which was maybe 50 metres away and buffered by a hedge. It wasn't intrusive, and we couldn't hear it from inside the lodge, but it was noticeable outdoors.As for suggestions for improvement, a small table on the balcony to accompany the rattan furniture would have been useful, as you don't really want to carry the wooden tables outside. Seat cushions for the rattan furniture would also have been a nice touch, but perhaps I'm just being a princess!Overall, we had a wonderful break and wouldn't hesitate to return. Being able to bring our dog was a huge plus, and in fact, it was the main reason we chose a UK staycation.

Lodges situated and great location to access Blackpool and lots of other activities, within the area. The Lodge had everything required for our visit and was very clean, the hot tub was amazing and well used. However, it lacked some basics, which would have made our time much more comfortable. For example the mattresses were very low quality, you cold feel every slate on the beds. The main bedroom door did not close and required something putting behind it to keep it closed. A little bit of detail needs to be taken with the overall finish of the lodge ( Wi-Fi boxes falling off the wall and skirting boards coming away from the wall) to maybe bring the lodge up to the VIP standard in which they are sold under.

The lodge was clean and tidy when we arrived. However the lodge was showing signs of tiredness, both inside and outside. The hot tub was not available to use on arrival, due to the low temperature and it was also situated in a very awkward place and felt very enclosed. The lodge was meant to be for 6 people. However they didn’t kit it out very well for 6 people. The water pressure was very low, so meant you couldn’t have showers at the same time.Bathrobes and slippers were not included and were £15 per person + VAT. Location was good and a short drive to some good attractions. The Shovels Inn pub was a five minute walk away, offering good food. Would not return.
