This wonderful holiday home is located in the fantastic village of Hognaston, close to many walks and cycle routes plus the well known activities available at Carsington Waters. Many families also choose this location if they are visiting Alton Towers Theme Park. You have plenty of towns nearby to explore, the nearest being the old market town of Ashbourne plus sites such as the Dovedale stepping stones and Chatsworth House.
Mills Croft underwent renovations in early 2022 where the owners lovingly restored this property, it is now finished to a modern spec with holiday makers in mind meeting all your needs. On the ground floor is a cosy sitting room with smart TV, the kitchen is an open plan sociable space with breakfast bar and dining area, it is kitted out with all the appliances you should require to easily whip up your favourite meals, off from the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and downstairs toilet.
Upstairs there are three good size bedrooms, the master has a king size bed, the second bedroom is a double but can be made into twin beds upon request and the third bedroom is a single bed with a pull-out bed underneath, on the first floor there is also the family bathroom with shower over bath. Outside there is a large garden beautifully laid with flower beds and a decking area, there is also a secure cycle store available. The front of the property is gravelled with a driveway for a car.

Mills Croft is an updated semi detached house situated at the end of a quiet close in a small rural village. The friendly owners live next door but are not intrusive. There is no interference from the adjoining semi. There is just enough room for two 'normal' sized cars to squeeze in for off-road parking and space for a third on the road in front of the property. However parking is not encouraged at the end of the close so an extra car would have to be parked elsewhere. The property is clean and the facilities provided are sufficient for a few days stay for five people. Unfortunately the rear garden requires a little tlc and the table and seating and decking have seen better days and so is not particularly welcoming but that might not bother some guests. The sole local pub in the village, which is best described as rustic, serves food on most evenings and there is a reasonable selection and the food is of good quality and fairly priced, and so is definitely worth a visit. There are other pubs nearby in other villages but they really need a car. Carsington Water is nearby and can be accessed by footpaths over the fields. Otherwise Hognaston is well place for visits to many places in the southern Peak District, and National Trust Kedleston Hall is definitely with a visit if you like that sort of thing.

Lovely cottage, well presented and comfortable. In a great location for touring the local area. Loads to do for all ages. Highly recommend Sudbury Hall (great for kids), National Tramway Museum and Peaks Wildlife park.
