Committed ramblers to fair weather walkers can enjoy walks around the streets, sampling homemade local delights and neighbouring villages such as Ashford-in-the-Water and Rowsley, or through the spectacular limestone dales of the Monsal Trail. Bakewell itself has the River Wye running through the centre, providing opportunities for relaxing by the beautiful waterside setting, or enjoying wonderful riverside walks. It is a popular base for tourists wanting to explore the area, and is home to a multitude of historic buildings, courtyards and independent shops and cafès. As a small market town, Bakewells market day is every Monday, with an additional farmers market held on the last Saturday of the month. A great place to stay.The town centre is very close, and has a number of great pubs and eating places.The real ales at The Joiners Arms and The Queens Arms in the town centre are top class.

Quaint little cottage with everything you need close to the town centre 5 minute walk down a lovely path by the river . Only two little things new towels would have been great they are a little tired and a bath mat for stepping out of the shower . Comfy bed . We loved Bakewell great little town . .
