About this property

Corner Cottage is a traditional, terraced dwelling, resting in the heart of Tideswell, Derbyshire. Enjoying an enviable position in the Peak District National Park, whilst a stone’s throw from a range of amenities, Corner Cottage has been lovingly restored to offer a welcoming home-from-home, ideal for a family break to the countryside. Park up in the free public car park, opposite the home, before entering through the rear, where you’ll locate the cellar/utility, a great place for storing your bikes and muddy boots. Entering through the front of the home, be welcomed into the open-plan living space where you can prepare hearty meals, dine together, and relax with a Smart TV to take advantage of. The three bedrooms feature traditional, cast-iron bedsteads, adding to the charm of Corner Cottage; select between a double and twin on the first floor, followed by a king-size bedroom on the second floor. The home is complete with a bathroom with shower over, where you can prepare for your coming itinerary. All you could ever want is on the doorstep of Corner Cottage, from the local butcher, a baker, a plethora of restaurants and of course the most remarkable church, known as the Cathedral of the Peak, to the Chee Dale Stepping Stones nature reserve, a hiking hotspot. Tideswell is set in the limestone uplands and is a haven for walkers and cyclists, with plenty of trails to follow. No matter your interests, there are many opportunities for fun, come rain or shine! You'll be spoiled for choice, from epic tree-top adventures at Go Ape, thrills at Poole’s Cavern beneath the earth and captivated by the stunning views all around this beautiful area, and trips to Buxton Visitor Centre for a day of heritage, plus so much more. All of this awaits at Corner Cottage.

The village of Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Famous for its fine church dedicated to St John the Baptist, known as "The Cathedral of the Peak", the village is also noted for its well dressing and carnival wakes. There is excellent walking with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just outside the village. Mam Tor and Castleton are only a few miles away and the popular Spa town of Buxton is within a 15 minute drive. Tideswell has many fine country inns, a chemist, butchers, bakers and much more including a convenient supermarket open daily until 10pm. The pretty little market town of Bakewell is also just a short drive away and well worth a visit.

The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you might need. Dining area and sitting area are comfy, nice to have the board games! All bedrooms are great and beds so comfy. Useful basement with its own entrance so good for boots and bikes etc. location in village is good. And the village was a good size with few options for eating out. Parking is on street but was not a problem. All in all perfect for our stay. Thank you !!

Spotlessy clean, well equipped to a high standard and the welcome hamper and extensive range of teas, coffees and hot chocolate sachets were a really kind gesture. Bedding, pillows and beds are the best we’ve ever slept on. Really cosy and welcoming property in a quiet yet busy enough village. The local Italian Sals offered a really lovely menu and take your own bottle made it not an over expensive outing. We also had a take away from the curry hut in Hope Valley and the local pubs are all lovely and dog friendly . Lots of walking and was great to come back to a warm, clean and well equipped cottage. Would definitely love to stay again . Even the weather was kind. Thankyou to the owners.
