The Barn offers a spacious, well-equipped, and clean retreat ideal for families and groups, with beautiful countryside views and friendly, helpful hosts. Guests particularly enjoyed the peaceful location, proximity to local attractions, and opportunities for children to interact with farm animals. While the majority of feedback is highly positive, a few guests noted minor issues with mattresses, showers, and heating in certain areas. Overall, the property provides an excellent base for exploring the Peak District and is highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.
Cleanliness is consistently praised, with multiple guests describing the property as very clean and tidy. Only one or two minor comments mention dated decor, but not cleanliness itself.
The location is frequently highlighted as a major strength, with guests loving the peaceful countryside setting, beautiful views, and easy access to local attractions such as Alton Towers and walking trails.
Guests generally found the property comfortable and spacious, with warm and cosy communal areas. Some mentioned soft or lumpy mattresses and occasional heating issues in specific rooms, but these did not detract significantly from overall comfort.
The barn is described as very well equipped, especially the kitchen, with ample space and high-spec appliances. A few minor maintenance issues were noted, such as a sticky table, a faulty oven door, and a non-working radiator, but overall facilities are highly rated.
Hosts are repeatedly described as friendly, helpful, and accommodating, offering local recommendations and flexible check-in/out. While guests appreciated the warm welcome and helpfulness, no specific mention of gifts was made, so gifts cannot be guaranteed.

Perfect location & accommodation for our half term break. Children loved seeing/feeding the horses, we enjoyed a bbq one evening & kitchen ample sized & well equipped to allow the kids to cook for the adults on one evening, with a fair bit of adult assistance!Weather was on our side, plenty of outdoor activities for day/part/day trips, and some lovely pubs for a drink or dinner.

An overall really lovely stay. Very welcoming hosts, beautiful views and very peaceful. It was a great location to get to walks. Very roomy, lots of space for a large group. My only comment would be one of the bedrooms was overly hot, as we were informed the radiator could not be turned off. Overall I would rate 4.5 stars
