The Barn offers a spacious, well-equipped, and clean retreat ideal for families and groups, with beautiful countryside views and friendly, helpful hosts. Guests particularly enjoyed the outdoor space, proximity to local attractions, and opportunities to interact with farm animals. While most found the accommodation comfortable, a few mentioned soft or lumpy mattresses and minor maintenance issues. Overall, the property provides an excellent base for exploring the Peak District and is highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.
Multiple reviews praise the property for being very clean and tidy, with fresh linen and towels provided. Only one or two minor comments about dated decor, but no significant cleanliness concerns were raised.
Guests consistently highlight the beautiful views, peaceful countryside setting, and convenient access to attractions like Alton Towers and local walks. The location is described as superb and ideal for exploring the area.
The barn is described as spacious, warm, and cosy, with plenty of room for large groups. However, several guests noted that some mattresses were soft or lumpy, and one mentioned a cold kitchen due to a faulty radiator.
The property is frequently described as well-equipped, especially the kitchen, with high-spec appliances and ample space for group cooking and dining. Minor maintenance issues such as an oven door and showers were mentioned but did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Perfect location & accommodation for our half term break. Children loved seeing/feeding the horses, we enjoyed a bbq one evening & kitchen ample sized & well equipped to allow the kids to cook for the adults on one evening, with a fair bit of adult assistance!Weather was on our side, plenty of outdoor activities for day/part/day trips, and some lovely pubs for a drink or dinner.

We very much enjoyed our holiday at the Barn. It is situated in beautiful scenery and we were fortunate to have dry and sunny weather during our stay. The owner, Adrian, was friendly and helpful. The barn is very spacious and well equipped, and generally we were very comfortable. The only exception to that was the lack of any heating in the kitchen as the radiator does not work , so the kitchen felt cold in the mornings as the temperature outside at night had been near zero. This needs to be rectified for the colder months. The Barn is well situated to enjoy the beautiful Peak District. We brought our bikes so we could cycle the nearby traffic free trails such as the Monsal trail and the Manifold track. These are excellent for both walkers and cyclists, though best to avoid the busy times such as school holidays. Overall we can thoroughly recommend the Barn.
