This cottage could be a lovely rental but unfortunately the cleanliness of the property lets it down. The floors were very dirty and had paint stains everywhere even on the plates and cooking pots. Someone had a 60th before us as still had the 60 confetti and present tags on the floor. So clearly not cleaned since the last rental. The bed in the roof was broken in the middle making this very noisy to turn over. The temperature was too hot, waste of heating when we had to keep the windows open. The garden again was nice but very messy and unkept. Conservatory very dirty. The place needs a good Gardener and cleaner to improve. Was a shame.

We had a very comfortable winter weekend at Brookend Cottage. It was nice and warm and we enjoyed the log burner. The location worked well for us as we visited nearby towns Chipping Norton and Burford, and walked from Stow to Bourton Over Water. We had expected from the website two singles in one of the bedrooms but they had been made up double. This was a bit awkward as we were four individuals. Overall excellent cottage.
