Lovely period house im a central location, well equipped and comfortable beds. The heated swimming pool an added bonus. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We had a wonderful week at the sanctuary with the highlight being the hours spent in the outdoor pool and playing on the snooker table. The house and grounds are so beautiful- if you're looking for modern and sleek then this place isn't for you. But if you're looking for a relaxing base full of quirky character then it's perfect. We were able to travel all over Kent from here on day trips and it had everything we could need for relaxing days at home too. The owners were really welcoming and helpful and we'd love to visit again.

A wonderful and affordable opportunity to stay in a multi-million pound house that is overflowing with character. The house itself is enormous and is like a National Trust property with old leaded windows, open beamed ceilings, a magnificent staircase, wood panelling and carvings. Outside, there are substantial gardens to enjoy. The owners live next door and were very friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are large and the beds extremely comfortable. The house is well fitted out with quality fittings and appliances with plenty of crockery & cutlery. It is worth noting that none of the 3 bathrooms have a shower. There is a hand-held shower attachment on the taps to the baths but with no splash screens or shower curtains. The plumbing is ancient with poor flow in the master bedroom and there are no thermostats on the radiators so regulating room temperatures is a bit of a nightmare. Also, thermal expansion/contraction from the heating pipes created loud bangs and creaks so you might need earplugs if you are a light sleeper. We loved the house and its location. We strongly recommend it but be aware of its quirks and limitations.
