Old Vines Cottage in Whitstable is highly praised for its superb location, comfort, and the convenience of on-site parking. Guests appreciate its proximity to the beach and town, as well as its cosy and well-furnished interiors. While some guests mention limited space and headroom in certain areas, the overall sentiment is one of satisfaction, with many expressing a desire to return.
The cottage is generally described as clean, with one review noting an issue with cleaning quality upon arrival. However, this seems to be an isolated incident, as other reviews do not mention cleanliness concerns.
The location is consistently lauded as perfect, with its beachfront setting and proximity to local amenities, making it a standout feature of the cottage.
Guests find the cottage comfortable and snug, with cosy furnishings. The provision of child-friendly facilities adds to the comfort for families, although some guests note the limited headroom and space in certain areas.
The cottage is well-equipped, with a well-appointed kitchen and the convenience of a second toilet. However, the mention of steep staircases and the need for care suggests some room for improvement in accessibility and safety.
While guests appreciate the dog-friendly touches, such as a doggy towel and poo bags, there is no consistent mention of gifts or additional thoughtful gestures to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such amenities are a delightful addition but not guaranteed.

We stayed here for a week with our dog and couldn’t fault it! It’s a lovely 3 storey cottage with loads of character and kitted out really well! It was fantastic to be right next to the sea and also The old Neptune pub which quickly became our local! Really close to other seaside resorts also. Highly recommend.

Old Vines is a cosy, comfortable cottage in a wonderful location. There were some issues with the quality of the cleaning when we arrived which surprised us given the online reviews we had read. before booking. Hopefully this will be addressed for future guests.

Lovely house in the most perfect location - not only for the pebble beach and the Old Neptune but the amazing sunsets too. I think the house would be a tight squeeze for 6 people - the top floor bedrooms are very small with a low ceilings and it would be a squeeze in the cosy lounge and around the kitchen table for more than 4 adults. Whitstable is a lovely town full of friendly locals and there was no shortage of places to eat. Everywhere is easy to walk or if you want to go further a field and explore the other coastal towns and leave your car at home, the train is very easy.
