Guests say

The House on the Green is a cosy and clean cottage in Chipping Norton, appreciated for its warm atmosphere and convenient location for exploring the Cotswolds. Guests have enjoyed the spacious kitchen, living area, and the thoughtful welcome pack. However, some have noted issues with facilities and maintenance.

The property has been described as very clean by a guest, indicating a high standard of cleanliness. However, no other reviews specifically mention cleanliness, so the score is based on the limited available feedback.

The location is praised for being easy to find and great for exploring the Cotswolds, with amenities like Aldi nearby. This suggests a high level of satisfaction with the location.

Guests have found the house warm, cosy, and a 'home from home', suggesting good comfort levels. However, some concerns about heating and the suitability for six people slightly lower the score.

Mixed feedback on facilities, with some guests satisfied and others reporting issues with the washing machine, shower, and heating. The need for maintenance and clearer instructions has been noted.

While guests have mentioned a welcome pack with wine and snacks, there is not enough information to assess overall thoughtfulness consistently. As such, the score is set to null, and it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

    V. and heating and local information such as doctor etc. The owner had to be telephoned several times on these matters. There was no central heating at the start of our stay, and finally we had to ask for the system to be looked at.This was done but left us with no way of adjustment. So we felt cold when we came back after a day out. We did assume [but wrongly] that there would be a lavatory in the en suite. This meant going up or down a flight of stairs to use this facility - not a good idea for old or very young children. There were beds enough for 6, but 6 in the house would have been a nightmare. The shower needs attention. It dripped constantly, and the tray was cracked and taped over. Not up to muster. We chose not to use it. With guests in the house it was difficult. The dishwasher had no salt and none was provided. The blinds at the windows need urgent attention. Now to outside. The bushes are very overgrown around the front door area thus making it gloomy and access to the key box a bit of a challenge, The side parking was inhibited by over grown greenery, and the back gate was not secure. The' home from home 'experience was NOT 'home from home' for us and we left 24 hours early.

No instructions on how to use bath with loose shower attachment/how to fill bath. 3 adults & 3 children had to use ensuite shower, also no blinds on window in ensuite shower area. Some utensils missing: bread knife; egg cups etc Some cups appeared old and well used. Would not use this holiday cottage again as these problems let the experience down.

The house was perfect for a weekend stay with a pretty spacious kitchen and living area. Aldi is only 5 mins walk away. This is a great spot for exploring the Cotswolds. I think this may also be the only 6 bed house in the area. Sally was great and was even very understanding about us having smashed a couple of glasses. She very kindly provided crisps and a bottle of wine and also towels and soaps throughout the house. Great weekend.
