Guests say

Squirrel Creek offers a clean, well-equipped lodge in a peaceful rural setting, ideal for exploring Cornwall or simply relaxing. Guests appreciated the hot tub, swimming pools, and friendly staff. The upside-down layout kept bedrooms cool, and the kitchen was generally well stocked. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as broken appliances and limited TV reception, and several guests mentioned the lack of a washing machine. Parking can be challenging, especially for those with mobility needs. Overall, the property provides a comfortable and enjoyable base for a Cornish holiday.

Most guests found the lodge clean and tidy on arrival, though a few mentioned needing to clean outdoor areas or noted a slight smell, which was easily remedied. Overall, cleanliness was consistently praised.

The rural location was appreciated for its tranquillity and access to local attractions, though some noted it is not central for exploring all of Cornwall and a car is necessary.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the upside-down layout helped keep bedrooms cool during hot weather. Some minor issues, such as the lack of a fan and occasional appliance problems, were mentioned but did not detract significantly from comfort.

Facilities like the hot tub, swimming pools, and games room were popular, but several guests noted maintenance issues (broken tin opener, hoover, TV reception) and the absence of a washing machine. Parking was sometimes difficult, especially for those with disabilities.

There were no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Cottage itself was lovely. The reverse layout putting the bedrooms downstairs was a godsend in the heatwave as the bedrooms kept cool and sleep was therefore achieved! On that note, the double mattress was super comfy too. The living quarters upstairs were HOT and would have benefited from a fan... but of course no shops had any left to sell us!Equipment wise, the vacuum cleaner and can opener did not work and we could not get all of the jets on the hottub to jet (this may just have been inexperience on our part) everything else seemed fineWe ended up not using the onsite facility so cannot review them. Locally there's a small asda express and further out a big tesco for food shopping. Nice to have a decent size freezer so we could buy ice cream 🍦

Just spent a week at this property, lovely upside house with everything you need, however really missed a washing machine imo. Booklet was out of date still referring to Covid and the tv reception was awful . Lovely area, well kept grounds, not really central if you want to explore Cornwall, you will need a car. If you just want to kick back and enjoy the peace, swimming pools and gym then this will be ideal for you! I would recommend.

We had a lovely time, location was perfect for me exploring Cornwall. The lodge was clean, tidy and kitchen was well equipped. Few things missing or broken. The hoover was broken, there was no sweeping brush or dustpan and brush. Would be nice to of had a washing machine as there's no launderette on the park(didn't see one anyways) the tin opener wouldn't work either which was frustrating and the cooker wouldn't work on the last day. The hot tub was a fab addition, would recommend sliders for getting in and out. The swimming pool was a hit for our children. The shop had your essentials with the bigger supermarkets near by. All staff were friendly and chatty. Only visited the Honicombe Arms once however was lovely and enough benches to sit outside when the sun was out. The park was very quiet and could hear the woodpeckers in the mornings 😍 we would visit again for sure 😃
