The holiday rental property in Marazion, Cornwall, offers a convenient location for beach walks and exploring the surrounding area, with views of St. Michael's Mount. Guests appreciate the proximity to the sea and local amenities, and some have enjoyed thoughtful touches such as welcome packages. However, there are mixed feelings about the property's condition, with several reports of maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns.
Cleanliness has been a recurring concern among guests, with reports of ants, a stained mattress cover, and a general need for a deeper clean. Some guests found the property well-cleaned, but the frequency of cleanliness-related complaints suggests room for improvement.
The property's location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, stunning views of St. Michael's Mount, and ease of access to local shops and attractions. The presence of a nearby train line was noted, but it does not seem to detract significantly from the overall positive reception of the location.
Comfort receives mixed reviews, with some guests finding the beds and furniture comfortable, while others report issues with mattresses and seating. The need for mattress replacements and more comfortable furnishings has been mentioned, indicating that comfort could be enhanced.
Facilities are generally appreciated, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom. However, there are several reports of maintenance issues such as problems with the shower, windows, and heating, which suggests that the facilities could benefit from updates and repairs.
While some guests have mentioned receiving welcome packages, there is insufficient information to determine the consistency of such gestures or their impact on the overall experience. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness, and guests should note that such gifts are not guaranteed.
This stone built semi-detached bungalow is on a small private development of purpose built holiday bungalows which lies just steps away from golden sands and white tipped waves. Set around the site of Marazion's former railway sidings and the little granite stone station which has now been sympathetically converted. This property is perfect for those who want to be as close as possible to the sea as it is just steps away from the beach and the stunning views of St Michael's Mount. The entrance leads into the open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with TV and comfy sofas.
Two double bedrooms, twin bedroom and a bathroom complete the bungalow. There is a patio area for each bungalow and the surrounding communal gardens have been landscaped with designated parking bays in front of each property with two spaces. Ever popular with watersports enthusiasts, windsurfers, kite surfers and dinghies can be found skimming over the waves throughout the year. When the tide is out, the historic island castle of St Michael's Mount can be accessed by an ancient cobbled causeway well trodden by Pilgrims over the centuries. A vast tract of inland marshland frequented by rare species of migrating birds attracts bird watchers from all over the country.
Time can be spent browsing in galleries and antique shops, or taking refreshments in the tea rooms, cafes and pubs which can be found lining the narrow streets of this charismatic coastal village. Some floor tiles/coverings are lifting a little, the worktops are not as secure as they were. The lavatory needs its sistern repairing. The bottle opener is broken. BUT we had a brilliant time, the cottage is in an ideal place for us, beach before breakfast and close to amenities. The lack of wi-fi does not worry us and we love the trains! I only let you know about the cottage for the sake of others so you can do the adjustments needed. We love it there and hope to return.

The toilet is also very hard to flush. The shower could do with refreshing, some of the grout is black and it could do with a deep clean. Hot water, very hot, but runs out after a couple of people have showered. Not ideal for a cottage that sleeps six. Shower cubicle also tiny and could do with a caddy in there. And an extra bath mat or two. Due to the toilet seat and shower this accommodation is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties. The kitchen is very well stocked with practically anything you could need to prepare a meal, so we were happy with that. The sofas and the beds are comfortable enough. The vertical blind across the patio door has no pulley so has to be drawn across by hand from the top. We loved the garden and proximity to the sea. Just for clarity (and again for anyone with mobility issues) if you wanted to get to the beach from the garden one has to climb up and over two walls (each approximately a metre high). There is then the high sea wall before you can get to the beach, with the closest steps down being adjacent to the surf club. As an aside, the footpaths to Marazion are very narrow at times, with drop curbs not always flat / available, making it quite unsuitable (and again, unsafe) for wheelchair users. Still issues with windows, which sound as though they need replacing across the entire complex. Would love for there to be recycling facilities. Ironically, the welcome pack is an "eco box". Which, even more ironically, contained soap made from cow tallow and biscuits containing milk. Animal agriculture is one of the leading causes of climate breakdown and has detrimental environmental impact across the world. Also, switching to Ocean Saver products would be a far better idea as they don't contain any chemicals detrimental to marine life. But having said all this we have booked again for next year, as we know what to expect, but hope all the feed back is listened to and acted upon.

The location is excellent for our needs, the cottage is always clean and tidy, the welcome pack and milk in the fridge is very thoughtful too... We will be back...
