We had a wonderful week in this lovely traditional cottage. The owner was very happy to quickly any questions we had, before our holiday started. Would highly recommend

We stayed here for a week in August 2025. On approaching the property from the rear we were worried what we’d booked as it looks very run down and grotty from the back alleyway. The rear gate is patched up with board, the number has fallen off the gate, there is an grotty garage, and there was litter around (packaging from the new dishwasher/washing machine I think). The rear garden could do with some attention as it feels a bit neglected. Inside, the property is basic but an OK size for 6. The kitchen is well equipped (although it could do with an oven dish as we had planned to make a pasta bake but couldn’t find one), and the dining area is pleasant. There is a new washing machine (we didn’t use this) and dishwasher, which are good quality. The lounge area is fine, though the sofas are a bit dirty (we covered them with our own throws). The lounge is quite simple as you would expect for a property that caters for pets, and the TV and wifi are both good. There is an amazing sea view from the front double bedroom, and the bathroom/shower was pleasant (although the toilet seat moves around a bit and we ran out of hot water after 3 people had showers one day). We found the bunk beds in the rear bedroom really noisy, especially whenever the person sleeping on the top bunk moved around, so we found it very difficult to get any sleep in this room and ended up taking it in turns spending nights on the sofa. The back left bedroom window doesn’t open, which meant the room was stuffy, and I’m not sure this complies with fire and safety regs? Three of us found that we couldn’t stop sneezing or wheezing (I’m asthmatic) when inside the house but we’re fine outside, so I’m not sure if this is a cleaning issue (I.e. allergies to pet hair from pets that have previously stayed in the property)? The front of the property is generally pleasant with some nice flowers - would be made even better with comfortable seating and with a small area of decking to raise the seating area so you can see the sea view over the wall. All in all we wouldn’t stay at this property again, but it was satisfactory. It was a good base (Saint Just) to explore the many amazing places in this area of Cornwall.
