While some cleanliness issues were noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment in a picturesque setting.

Guests have mentioned cleanliness issues, including cobwebs, dirty baking trays, and discarded tissues. However, the beds are noted to be very comfortable with clean linen, suggesting that while some areas may need attention, others are well-maintained.

The location is consistently lauded for its incredible sea and hill views, tranquillity, and proximity to nature. It's described as a remote getaway, ideal for relaxation and exploration, though a car is necessary due to its remoteness.

The property offers a range of facilities, including a hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable living spaces. However, there are comments about the hot tub being difficult to heat and drain, and parking challenges due to shared access with neighbouring houses.

Captains Cottage was a delightful place to stay, perfect to spend time with friends and relax. We loved the art and cosy feel, kitchen clean and everything you need. Comfortable beds for a wonderful nights sleep. The location couldnt be better, a walkers and birdwatchers paradise. I would definitely come back to re charge the batteries - absolutely loved it!

The location is the only selling point. Bins outside were not emptied in some time and inside the property clearly just had a quick clean up, lots of cobwebs and some dirty baking trays, old crisp packets and crumbs down the side of chairs. The hot tub takes a long time to heat, and logs are costly, it also takes a long time to drain. Beds are very comfortable and clean linen. Overall a nice property just needing a bit of tlc.
