A stunning Cornwall cottage, nestling at the head of a valley, in the village of Polgooth. Combining character charm with modern convenience, this beautifully presented property is equipped to a high standard, and provides a wonderful Polgooth holiday cottage for families and groups of friends alike. With 1.3 acres of grounds to explore, a gym, a four poster bed and a leather sleigh bed, this property provides a perfect base for enjoying Cornwall. Relax with a glass of wine on the sun deck in the evening while overlooking the garden, or enjoy a meal together around the large, antique dining table, taking in the beams and character charm of the dining room, the perfect way to unwind after a busy day exploring. Visit local beaches, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, and Mevagissey, before returning to this cosy Polgooth holiday cottage. The village of Polgooth is now a quiet settlement on the outskirts of St. Austell, but has a history of tin mining. Frequented by visitors to the local countryside, this lovely settlement is located just three miles from the sea. The wider area also offers a wide variety of visitor attractions, including the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Tall Ships Harbour at Charlestown â all of which are within a 15 minute drive. The fishing harbour at Mevagissey is also nearby and allows visitors to take a passenger ferry across the bay to Fowey, just five miles away. Also within easy reach are the beautiful Roseland Peninsula villages of St. Mawes and St. Just-in-Roseland. With coastal walks, sandy beaches and beautiful towns, Polgooth is ideally placed for a fantastic family holiday.

The house is lovely, clean and spacious. It is equipped with everything you could need. The pool, hot tub and games room were brilliant as we had terrible weather but it ensured there was still plenty to keep everyone entertained. Julia and David were lovely leaving us homemade scones and cream. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Very happy with our stay!

The welcome was very friendly and helpful, giving us a guided tour and instructions on how things worked..There were scones, Prosecco and eggs which were very welcome. Our party consisted of 4 adults..ages ranging from 47 to 67 years. I would like to write this review from a person who has mobility problems .. eg: difficulty in walking. There was also a member of our group who had âallergyâ issues as well as other health problems. I have read through the information about the property again before I start this review as I do not wish to offend the advertiser. Upon arrival, we were faced with the steepest drive I have ever encountered⦠but, as the owner said âwe would get used to itâ.. which we did and we mastered the art of driving a vehicle up and down quite well. There was a manageable slope from the car park area to the front door⦠First impressions when walking into the property was Wow⦠such a warm homely feeling. I was so pleased there were down stairs bedrooms to choose from as I found the stairs difficult. May I suggest a second handrail on the stairs. There are 2 shallow steps from the front door through the hall to the bedrooms, stairs and toilet/shower area ( I used the stone walls to grab onto ) I started in the main bedroom but decided to move to the bedroom outside of the shower room for easier access during the night as it was a long walk and had to leave the corridor light on for visual access. The shower room also had a step ( May I suggest a grab rail for supported access). Kitchen area was brilliant, we all loved to 2 different areas.. and separated working/preparation areas. The kitchen was well stocked and we made full use of the facilities - Thankyou. Conservatory - this was our morning Gathering area to plan our day ahead. We used the dining area for main meals but We found the dining chairs very difficult to sit on for long periods of time ( sorry) Upstairs: the lounge was large, spacious and extremely comfortable but not all members of our group could use it. NB: there are raised flooring at the entrance to the rooms which were tripping hazards to our mobile group members. Bedroom with 4 poster bed was used.. family members were very pleased with it especialy the walk in shower. Swimming pool: I booked this property because of the âprivateâ pool and jacuzzi but did not realise that we had to share with 2 other properties. Again, speaking from a physically disabled point of view.. I found the pool very challenging to access ( in and out) and needed assistance with both. I would like to apologise for sounding so negative about my experience, because.. although it was challenging for me, it may not be for others.. but I believe this information is important to know when booking properties. However⦠as a family unit, we would like to thank the owners for such a lovely âstop offâ before travelling to our next destination.. We are home now after covering almost 1000 miles around England .. we have been on a âmissionâ and fulfilled our quest.
