Welcome to High View, a beautiful, spacious, one-bedroom ground floor apartment in Truro, and as the name suggests, there are stunning views of Truro from the sun trap terraced garden. It is so quiet here you would not know that you are only 0.7 miles from the city centre, ideal for a mini break to unwind or a longer stay. Everything is on the doorstep, you can walk into Truro and leave the car behind.
The property offers a home from home vibe, with an emphasis on cosy and comfort. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for rustling up a meal if you don’t want to eat out, or why not eat al fresco on the terrace admiring the view? The large open-plan living area is light and inviting with patio doors leading into the garden, and the bedroom with en-suite is at the other end of the property. Outside, the terrace is on different levels, so not suitable for people with mobility issues, and offers a private retreat to relax.
Truro is the city of Cornwall, full of activity all year round, with cobbled streets and small alleys that lead you to independent shops, cafés and bars. The highlight is the impressive cathedral. Weekly markets are full of gift ideas and tasty treats, and there are restaurants to suit everyone’s palate and budget, often using locally sourced produce. If you like history, take a walking tour of Truro and visit the museum, or pop into the local galleries and take in a show at the Hall for Cornwall.
Just over 1 mile away is the waterside village of Malpas, walk along and admire the excellent views of the river. If you want to venture further, catch the King Harry Ferry and spend a day in St Mawes. Situated in the beautiful Roseland, it is a popular area for tourists, visit the castle, wander around the shops, book a boat trip or just sit on the beach and admire the coastline that was used in the Poldark series. After a busy day, snuggle down on the comfy sofas with a favourite book or sit in the garden and admire the amazing skies.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - and in hindsight we couldn’t have picked better accommodation for a trip to Truro … and also only 1/2 hour drive to both north and south coasts. The accommodation was a perfect size for us (two adults and a large dog), very clean and comfortable, and had everything you’d need in a home-from-home. Large, fenced in garden (which we had sole use of) was perfect for our dog. It was clear that the owners took great pride in maintaining and preparing it for guests. Only a twenty minute walk into the city centre meant that we didn’t have to drive in the evening. There’s also a lovely country walk from the front door to Malpas (and the Heron Inn) which we all enjoyed. Wouldn’t be for everyone as there’s steep steps down to the property and you are on the outskirts of the city. But it was perfect for us. Highly recommended.
