Guests say

Trewenna is a well-equipped and beautifully restored cottage, praised for its comfortable furnishings, thoughtful touches, and excellent location. Guests enjoyed the outdoor facilities, including a pizza oven and BBQ, and the convenience of a village shop and pub across the road. The property's secure garden and on-site parking were also appreciated. Some minor issues were noted with comfort and maintenance, but overall, guests had a lovely stay and would recommend the property.

Most guests found Trewenna to be clean and well-maintained, though there were isolated comments about dust and a stained mattress. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, indicating a generally high standard of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, with easy access to local attractions, beaches, and coastal walks. The village shop and pub across the road add to the appeal, making the location almost ideal.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the linen lovely, with plenty of bathrooms and cosy living spaces. However, some guests mentioned uncomfortable sofas and a bed frame, which suggests room for improvement in seating comfort.

The property is celebrated for being well kitted out, with a fully equipped kitchen, outdoor pizza oven, BBQ, and secure garden. Issues with a boiler and mattress suggest minor maintenance concerns, but the overall response to facilities is very positive.

The host's thoughtfulness is evident in the well-equipped property, welcome pack, and provisions for pets and children. While gifts are mentioned and appreciated, it's important to note that such personal touches are at the discretion of the host and may vary.

About this property

Trewenna is a delightfully quirky end-terrace character cottage set over two floors and situated in a roadside position in the centre of the charming village of Tregony. Full of character with exposed stone walls, beams, solid oak flooring and deep set windows, yet with a contemporary twist boasting a rich blue theme and complimenting floral designs, this family-friendly holiday home has all you need, whether you want to stay in and enjoy this home-from-home, or venture out to explore Cornwall. Inside, the ground floor hosts a well-equipped kitchen where the chef of the group can show off their skills before moving through to the dining room; this characterful room is complete with colourful, mismatched yet perfectly at home chairs. Also on the ground floor, you can find an inviting sitting room, complete with a Smart TV and woodburning stove to cosy up in front of. Allow the children to entertain; the ground-floor snug is home to a wealth of creative materials, including puppets, so the younger members and any budding actors in the family can steal the show. Upstairs, three traditionally styled bedrooms offer a place to rest your head; a king-size and a double boast en-suite shower rooms for extra privacy, while the twin room offers a truckle, for a flexible sleeping arrangement. Outside, make the most of the fantastic space, which has a barbecue and pizza oven, along with plenty of furniture so you can dine alfresco while your canine companions play. If you don’t fancy cooking, pop over to The Kings Arms pub just opposite the property; you will also be just paces from the local village convenience store, art gallery and church with good access to the Roseland peninsula. For a day by the beach you can make your way to Charlestown, stopping at the charming town of St Austell on your way. For a fantastic selection of shops, restaurants and bars, you can venture into the city of Truro, known for its magnificent cathedral and for its role as Cornwall’s sole city. Finally, further afield you will find the iconic Eden Project, a superb day out at any age. Trewenna is a fantastic base and a convenient location for for a family break to beautiful Cornwall.

Tregony is an ancient village at the head of the Roseland Peninsula, ideal for visiting the region's various attractions. The village itself has a couple of pubs and a shop, and The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth, Charlestown old maritime village, and Truro's shopping centre, cobbled streets, restaurants, and theatre are all within 10 miles. Nearby are several safe, sandy beaches, the coastal route, which goes over cliffs and through coves, and Michelin-starred restaurants.

Everything about the house was perfect for us especially the layout of bedrooms each with its own bathroom and the enclosed garden for our dogs.

We have never been to a property which has been so well equipped, we wanted for nothing. The bbq and pizza oven were a great addition and we used and enjoyed both. Thank you.

The beds were extremely comfortable, lovely bedding and beautiful furnishings. Antiques and art work. The lovely south facing garden and very comfortable garden seating was a great plus point as we could sit out after a busy day visiting the lovely seaside villages. Real bonus to have parking and fully fenced garden for our dog. The cottage was a real credit to the owners who must have put a lot of thought into creating such a beautiful holiday cottage.
