Nearby, Perranporth boasts a beautiful sandy beach, a small selection of shops, restaurants, and pubs, including The Watering Hole, which is positioned right on the beach.

Goonhavern is a small Cornish village situated 1.5 miles inland from Perranporth, the setting for Winston Graham's Poldark novels, written in the 1930s. Goonhavern has a traditional inn, a village shop, a garden centre, and a playground. Known for producing the finest tin, the community still has abandoned pump houses, mine shafts, and workers homes. Perranporth has a lovely sandy beach that spans for three miles at low tide, backed by rugged cliffs ideal for rock pooling.
